Enclosure awards made before 1845 are held in many different places. Some are at The National Archives and others at local record offices.

To find out where a particular enclosure award is held, use the following books:

For England: W E Tate Domesday of English Enclosure Acts and Awards (1978)

For Wales: J Chapman Guide to Parliamentary Enclosures in Wales (1992).

Copies of these books are available in many reference libraries.

Enclosure awards made after 1845 are held at The National Archives in series MAF 1.
